New Voices, New Worlds: Guest Starring Stacy Adams

I believe strongly in paying it forward in ALL facets of my life. A lot of people were kind enough to help me in the beginning of my own journey, hosting me on their blogs, so it is with great pride that I'm able to give back.

This week, I am beyond proud to be able to say I've got one of the most important people in my life in the hot seat. The Stunning Stacy Adams and her amazingly sexy brain. And I feel no shame in sharing with you all, that in her real guise, this gal is one of the 4 ladies who inspired the heroines of my own New Camelot. So get comfy and take it away Stacinator!!!

First and foremost, tell us a little bit about yourself, a mini bio that tells us all need to know about you in just 3 sentences.

I’m a 31 year old wife and mother of three girls.  I love sarcasm, wine, and good, intelligent company.  In third grade, I was labeled a daydreamer and have been unable to get my head out of the clouds since.

What’s currently cooking in that brilliant brain of yours?

I’m trying my hand at science fictional romance.  It’s new for me, because I’ve always written characters that have powers of some kind.  But these are just your ordinary humans with just a little more advanced technology.

What part of the day motivates you most?

There’s the special time of the day, right after the kids go to bed and just before my husband gets home.  I call it magic hour.  I get the most done in that two hour time span than I do the whole rest of the day.

Dr. Seuss, Dr. Who or Dr. House?

Oh those are my three favorite doctors.  But if I had to choose, it would be THE Doctor.  I often dream of hearing the Tardis and seeing a man with a bow tie pop into my life.  I’d follow him anywhere.

Favorite author and why?

That would be like asking me to pick a favorite star in the sky.  I couldn’t possibly.  It all depends on my moods.  But I can tell you that I am a huge fan of Stephen King for his brilliant mind, Sherrilyn Kenyon for her witty characters, and George RR Martin for his on the edge of your seat stories.

Do you have a certain style of writing or are you still trying to find it?

I think I might still be trying to find it.  I consider myself a mimic.  I learn from the authors and role players I’ve read, and let their styles fuel my own.

Music when you write? If so, what’s on your playlist?

I absolutely MUST have music playing when I write.  It drowns out the noises in my house.  But I can’t listen to music with catchy lyrics, because it distracts me.  I catch myself singing along instead writing.  So I usually listen to Enya, Sade, or something classical.  But a friend recently introduced me to David Garrett and I’m completely in love.

Do you have a particular genre you’re obsessed with?

Romance.  I’m totally in love with love.  I like the way your stomach flutters when you first meet the man of your dreams, the way you tingle when you first kiss.  *Swoons*  It makes me crazy happy.  And the more unexpected the romance is, the better.

Twilight Zone, Snapped or Reality Shows?

Twilight Zone all the way.  I had a Big Brother phase, but I’m over that.  I’d rather have the weird and unusual over the drama any day.

Pen name or using your own? If using a Pen Name, what inspired your choice?

Pen name.  I have a fantasy where I’m so successful as a writer that I have people stalking me.  So I’d like to keep my personal life separate.  LOL  I actually didn’t pick the name.  My husband did.  We were just talking about it one day and he was giving me options.  I told him that I wanted something that sounded like a common name.  So he gave me StacyAdams.

Fave food or drink?

Chocolate is my ambrosia and Cherry Dr. Pepper is my nectar.

Finally, give us some advice you’d have for all the dreamers out there who want to become doers.

Don’t ever worry about people hating what you write.  You will never please everyone.  There is not a single well known author out there who hasn’t had a bad review.  Once you get that thought in mind, you feel much more relaxed and realize that you aren’t writing for the rest of the world, you’re writing for you.
